According to The Knot, the new trend in wedding music is a morning-of playlist. I, personally, think that is a great idea. In fact it seems to be one of those why-didn't-think-of-that-sooner ideas. One of these would have gone a long way to calm my out-of-control nerves the morning of my wedding.
I do, however, have a few suggestions. While The Knot's list is comprised of somewhat sappy songs such as "A Moment Like This" by Kelly Clarkston and a little bit kitschy songs like "Going to the Chapel" by The Crystals, I would tailor the playlist to your own personal style, maybe even songs that have special meaning to you as a couple. Brandon had a wedding riddled with musical references, from the Beatles (I walked down the aisle to "Across the Universe") to the Dave Matthews Band. Even our vows contained lyrical references (the same ones, even though we wrote our vows separate...creepy). Better yet, why not make two copies, and give one to your groom before you part the night before? That way you will both be listening to the same special songs.
What songs would you include? Hopefully nothing to make you cry when you're trying to do your make-up! : )
